About Us

Our Mission

Honesty, Integrity, Professionalism and Service are at the heart of everything we do at National Protective Services.  Our mission is to promote safety in the communities we serve by providing our clients with effective, personalized security service and unparalleled customer care.  At National Protective Services, we don’t just secure your property, we protect you like family.

Our Beginning

Brian Sutton, a former Alexandria, VA police officer, founded National Protective Services in 1979.  It was his intention to use his law enforcement experience to build a more responsive, professional organization that would deter crime, give clients peace of mind, and promote safety in the community at large.  Brian served as the President and CEO of National Protective Services, Inc. until his passing in February, 2010.  In his life, Brian deeply valued honesty, integrity and service to his fellow man.  Though he is no longer with us, his values remain at the core of everything we do at NPS.

Community Involvement

As Christians and as Americans, we at NPS recognize how truly blessed we are each day.  We believe it’s our duty to use these blessings to give back to our local community and to the world.  It is both our duty and our privilege to serve the least among us, the poor, the homeless and the abused.  It is this deeply held belief that makes NPS proud to support each of the following organizations.

International Justice Mission

International Justice Mission is a global organization whose mission is to end the scourge of global human trafficking.  These amazing warriors work to find those who have been trafficked or enslaved, to free them from their oppressors and then to walk alongside them to a life of health and restoration.  IJM also works to ensure human traffickers are apprehended and jailed, while educating and mentoring law enforcement and community leaders to better recognize and combat human trafficking in their communities.  To date, IJM has freed more than 30,000 people from slavery around the globe.

Micah Ecumenical Ministries

Established in 2005, Micah Ecumenical Ministries is a collaborative effort among local churches in the Fredericksburg community working to provide care and resources for community members in need.  Micah’s primary goals are to reduce the length of time households experience homelessness and to reduce the number of households returning to homelessness.  They accomplish this goal through a variety of programs, including the Micah Hospitality Center, the Micah Respite House, the Cold Weather Shelter, and a variety of other housing resources.   To date, this organization has decreased homelessness in the Fredericksburg community by more than 84%.  NPS is proud to support Micah and its efforts to create a safer, healthier community for all.
